Women Economic Forum (WEF) Perth Attracts World Class Speakers
The Women Economic Forum (WEF) is an international conference platform enabling women and leaders from all walks of life worldwide to expand business opportunities and enhance personal influence through networking across borders while being inspired by some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, authors, thought leaders and celebrities.
Carol Hanlon, CEO of Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. (BEC Global), TCF WA Inc. (TCF Australia | TCF Global), BPW Business Incubator Training & Mentoring Projects is convening and hosting Australia’s first Women Economic Forum (WEF) in Perth from the 5th to 7th of July 2019.
With connections to 100,000 members and inspiring women across 150 countries, WEF is one of the largest women’s networks offering the widest outreach, enabling global connections for empowering women’s entrepreneurship and leadership. WEF’s are held globally and the Perth event will be the inaugural Forum to be held in Australia and a regional alliance of Women Economic Forum India.

Curtin University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry (AO) will provide the opening Keynote, 9am on July 6th. Cherie Blair, Founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in the UK will be giving a telelink address on July 7th.
The theme for the Perth event is ‘Empowered Women Making A Difference’, and it is expected that the event will attract 250+ attendees. Some of the confirmed speakers include:
- Dr. Harbeen Arora is the Founder and Global Chairperson of the ALL Ladies League (ALL) and Women Economic Forum (WEF). With a network of 100,000 inspiring women and 800+ chapters worldwide, ALL & WEF are amongst the largest women’s networks with the widest outreach, empowering women’s entrepreneurship and leadership at all levels. WEF is held annually in India and regionally in different parts of the world. Dr. Arora is the founder of BIOAYURVEDA, an organic health and wellness enterprise. She also leads ventures in hi-tech agriculture, organic farming and sustainable living.
- Masami Sato was born in Japan but her desire to expand her horizons took her on a global journey. She has been a serial entrepreneur since 2001, starting and running several commercial enterprises all aiming to transform the way businesses are operated today. And by taking a completely new look at the power of giving, she founded B1G1 (Buy1GIVE1) in 2007. Masami has authored four books including, ‘JOY – The gift of acceptance, trust and love’, ‘GIVING BUSINESS – Creating the maximum impact in the meaning-driven world’ and ‘Better Business, Better Life, Better World’. She is a two-time TEDx speaker and frequently invited to international events, podcasts, TV and radio interviews.
- Vinay Rai is a former billionaire and businessman ranked amongst the top 200 richest in the world in 1999 by Forbes USA, Vinay Rai is a mentor, guru, guide and philanthropist at heart. Author of “Think India: the rise of the world’s next superpower and what it means for every American,” he is a visionary entrepreneur, innovator and strategist.
- Libby Lyons was appointed Director of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency in October 2015. She oversees the statutory reporting process that gathers gender equality data from more than 12,000 employees, covering more than 4 million employees. She also presented at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York in 2018. Libby was recently announced in the top 100 most influential in gender equity policy in the world.

Rotary Club Welshpool sponsored two WEF Scholarships women from developing countries Ms Susana Cravo, Director and Founder of Kutsaca Mozambique and Ms Benedicta N. Nanyonga, Executive Director, Kinawataka Women Initiatives. Ross Scarfone from Welshpool Rotary club said, “Women who applied for this special opportunity had to outline how they are striving to make a difference to others in their communities via their NFP, NGO or Social Enterprise.”

The Welshpool Rotary Club is part of Rotary International a worldwide Not for profit organization which was formed in Chicago USA in 1905. The club was chartered in 1971 and belongs to District 9455. Although a relatively small club with an active membership of 19 we raise funds via sausage sizzles, quiz nights and other activities. These funds are distributed to needy people both locally and overseas. The club is looking to connect with an overseas Not for Profit (NFP) organisations and special worthwhile projects.
